Hovercraft Plans - You Can Build Your Own Hovercraft In A Weekend

Hovercrafts, also known as Air-Cushion Vehicles (ACV), are amphibious vehicles that move on a layer of pressurized air. Because of their unique design, they can cruise over virtually any surface: water, road, grass, snow and ice. As a result of their flexible nature, Hovercrafts have a great advantage in military applications, but they aren't just for the military. Lots of hobbyists love them too, especially since they are easy to build and with a good set of plans you can build a Hovercraft in a single weekend.

Some hobbyists prefer building and racing radio-controlled hovercrafts, which much like toy boats and helicopters, are controlled from a distance. But theres a lot more fun to be had than watching a small toy hovercraft fly around the local pond. You can actually build a hovercraft for yourself, and then get in it and take it for a drive. You can take your hovercraft for a nice leisurely cruise on the lake, or you can race your kids in the crafts you helped them build! If you get even more involved in hovercraft construction and operation, there are clubs to join as well so you can race fellow hobbyists and share building tips that will help you get more speed out of your craft.

And I have to say, Im a big klutz and even I managed to follow these plans without hurting myself or anyone else in the vicinity. On a weekend trip to my sisters, who happens to live near a lake, I made a short supply run to Lowes and then arrived on my sisters doorstep with plywood stacked up in the car. Her husband, myself and my brother put the Hovercraft together in less than a day and then spent the early part of the evening fighting over who got to use it next, so I think next time were going to try putting two more together so we can all race each other. Having done it once, Im pretty sure now I could just build the next one myself. The plans are easy to follow and well-illustrated for even a hardware newbie like myself to follow. And they really are just an incredible amount of fun. I'm actually looking forward to winter so I can try it out on the ice.

Want to build your own Hovercraft? Get a good set of Hovercraft Design Plans and get started on your weekend project. Convince a couple of friends to join you, and you can start racing them.

A Perfect Golf Swing Completely Controls The Flight Of The Ball

The flight of the golf ball is totally controllable by the impact of the club face and the ball.

For a straight shot the club face must be square to the flight line, traveling straight down said line and have the desired amount of loft as the ball is impacted. The ball must also be struck directly on the sweet spot of the club face and as if that is not enough we need a goodly amount of club head speed to get that perfectly straight flying golf shot.

For many years golf instructors have said that the straight flying shot is the hardest shot in golf to hit since it requires all of the above factors. Due to that most top players either favor a fade or a draw to eliminate erring one way or the other.

This generally works, but sometimes the curvature is either too much, perhaps not enough or still worse a double cross where the intended shot does the opposite of what was planned.

When the golf swing incorporates a rolling over action of the forearms this intentional curvature is definitely needed.

However when the forearms do not roll over through impact it is no harder to hit a straight shot than any other type of shot. As a matter of fact it has long been known that the shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line.

Maximum ball compression can only be had with a true straight shot. Any error in path or club face angle at impact lessens said compression. The more compression we lose the more distance we lose for any given club head speed, in other words we can gain substantial distance through perfect club ball contact.

To that end here are the ball flight rules that determine the power, accuracy and shape of the shot.

Straight shot- club face square, traveling straight down the target line with proper loft. The ball will only carry back spin and have no side spin.

Fade- The fade is caused by a club face that is either open to the flight line as the club head travels straight down the flight line or a club face that is square to the flight line but not traveling straight down the flight line and coming from outside it before impact to inside it after impact. The ball will carry a combination of back spin and side spin.

Draw- The draw is the exact reverse of the fade.

Slice- The slice is simply a larger version of the fade, and is often caused by not rolling the forearms to square or a severe out to in club head path. This out to in club head path may also have an open club face creating an even bigger slice.

Hook- The exact reverse of the slice.

Now that you know what causes the curvature you are halfway to fixing it.

Blue Rose Condo Hotel - The Latest Real Estate Trend

Today, one of the hottest commodities in real estate is the condo hotel. Bridging the gap between traditional condominiums and hotels, the condo hotel presents the best of both worlds: luxury accommodations in highly desirable locations along with upscale shops and restaurants. As an example, let's look at the Blue Rose in Orlando, Florida.

Currently in the pre-construction phase, the Blue Rose will consist of three towers housing 256 condominiums and 1,284 condo hotel suites. It will offer everything from lofts and one- and two-bedroom units to 3,000 sq. ft. penthouse suites. The property will be a resort oasis, with a promenade, European cafes, five themed restaurants, private pool cabanas, and a 1,000-seat theater.

The investment opportunity presented by condo hotels is unprecedented. Indeed, most new properties sell out in the pre-construction phase. In doing so, investors are able to obtain lower prices, secure many of the best units, and gain appreciation on their investments before ground is even broken.

Many people opt to purchase a condo hotel not only as an investment, but also as a vacation home. Generally, condo hotels provide first class accommodations in highly desirable locations. When the owner is not using the property, the condo hotel unit can be rented out to tourists. Typically, the owner doesn't have to take responsibility for renting, managing, and maintaining the unit, making the process free of the headaches and hassles of owning other rental properties.

Like any real estate investment, the key is location, location, location. For example, the Blue Rose Condo Hotel is located in Orlando, Florida, one of the hottest housing markets in both the United States and the world. Recently, analysts have reported that Orlando property is undervalued by as much as 30 percent when compared to other major U.S. markets. That, together with an average hotel occupancy rate of almost 80 percent and 40 to 55 million annual visitors, makes Orlando condo hotels prime investment opportunities.

It's easy to understand why Orlando is such a desirable destination. After all, Florida boasts 300 days of sunshine a year, over 1,000 miles of coastline, and an average temperature of 70 degrees. And Orlando is the center of family-friendly theme park destinations. Walt Disney World was first on the block, with 28,000 acres of family fun. Universal Studios and Sea World round out the top three, again with thrills for the whole family. It's estimated that it would take you over two months of eight-hour days to experience Orlando's 95 attractions. It's clear why tens of millions of tourists visit Orlando each year.

It's equally obvious why investors are flocking to buy property in Orlando. Condo hotels, like the Blue Rose condo hotel, are the latest real estate investment trend in hot destinations like Orlando. Between the theme parks, the world-class restaurants, the golf courses, and the opportunities to engage in water sports, Orlando investors are seeing phenomenal returns on their investments.

Weight Loss For Food Lovers!

So you love food? The thought of losing weight by eating less probably traumatises you! But take heart. Use these hints to make it all less painful.

We all know we need to have a well balanced diet. But this doesn't mean your diet has to be boring, just well planned. Sit down with your low fat recipe books and plan your week's meals before you go grocery shopping. Do not shop while you're hungry as you'll buy more. Only buy what's on the list. See how good it feels to have your shopping trolley full of mostly fruit and vegetables!

Change your attitude to eating by using smaller plates. You can still eat adequate proportions of the right food, but you will feel like you're eating more. Don't laugh, try this: it really works! Another little trick is to eat your nightly meal several hours before going to bed, then brush your teeth immediately. This seems to deter those late night cravings!

It's easy to remember this formula of your daily food requirements: 5 serves of vegetables and 2 serves of fruit. I find that starting the day with some fruit on my cereal takes care of one of the fruit serves and then I only have to munch on an apple some time during the day to fulfil that requirement. Eating a carrot for morning tea works for me because it takes a long time to chew (and therefore feels like I'm eating more!) plus it takes care of my first vegetable serve.

Eat slowly and savour every mouthful. Think about the texture and flavour of the food as you chew. Enjoy the eating experience more. Drink water with your meals as a habit as it will help fill you up. Chop up your favourite fruit and leave it in a container in the fridge. It's amazing how we're all more inclined to eat fruit when it's already bite sized. It's amazing at a kid's party when you bring out plates of chopped up fruit how the kids won't generally complain and will polish off every last morsel!

Have you noticed how most of our social events with family and friends are built around eating? Why not be the one to change all this by suggesting a walk together instead of a dinner party, a ball game in the park instead of an All-You-Can-Eat restaurant, a card game instead of a coffee shop? The company will still be great, and you won't feel tempted to mindlessly eat lots of food.

When heading out to social or sporting events, be kind to your body and your budget by packing healthy foods before you go. Most venues stock fast foods which are high in fat. In addition, you often waste previous time as a family by queuing up. If you worry that your kids will be missing out, you could buy them a treat after they've filled up on sandwiches and fruit. By then the smell of hot fries and chips will not seem as irresistable!

The truth is that none of us manage to eat everything we should on every single day of our lives. In our busy modern lives there's bound to be days the 5 vegetables 2 fruit rule is not observed. That's where health supplements come in. You'll experience great peace of mind as you and your family consume your daily requirements of vitamins and minerals in the form of a shake or capsules. It's a safeguard so that you know your body is getting what it needs. It's even more useful after exercise as whey protein shakes help repair and tone muscle. Many people also have a protein shake prior to bed to ensure that their metabolism doesn't slow down. Literally helping to lose weight while they snooze!

It's not as hard as you think to lose weight by eating well. It's not about fad diets, because these never result in sustained weight loss, and it's not about starving yourself, because you'll feel like you're missing out on pleasure. It's about organisation and retraining yourself by employing a few tricks which are tried and true.

Author Colin Johnson highly recommends whey protein shakes for overall health and as a hunger suppressant. Some of these shakes, such as Sleek and Slender, are specifically designed for the female body in mind. More information can be found at http://www.protein4health.com Colin has been a health educator, drug educator, elite sports coach and father of five all in one lifetime! He lives with his wife and family on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie, Newcastle.

Romania - Land of Castles and Dreams

I first travelled to Romania in 2005 and arrived at Otopeni Airport in Bucharest. I came over for a weekend trip to do the normal tourist route of seeing Bran castle in Transylvania.

After travelling on the coach to the far side of Romania I sat and wondered at how magic this land is. Once you have broken free of the grey centre of Bucharest the rural areas have some of the most scenic landscapes I have seen also the mountains in winter time are very spectacular.

The centre of Bucharest needs to be brightened up too many grey buildings of little or no character. The town centre needs to have the kids run round with paint ball guns and really add all the colours of the rainbow to it and I'm sure it would be an improvement.

I also travelled to another castle that weekend Pele's Castle in Sinai this castle is spectacular and is all gold inside a very well kept its definitely worth seeing and there are many good restaurants in the area.

I found staying in Brasov a very enjoyable and also travelling up the mountains in the cable car exciting. In the winter this is a very popular skiing resort. Having never tried skiing yet but I saw many people enjoying the slopes and having a great time in the snow.

I have travelled to Romania a number of times since and found it a land emerging from the years of communistic dictatorship rising now to become part of the European Union. This will bring a great deal of prosperity to this land with Romania being sighted as the best place in Europe to invest in property and property prices ranging from as little as 2000.00 pounds upwards.

Romania is emerging into a strong stable place to invest in I have invested in property there and its part of my dream to live there and watch my investments in Romania grow. Romania is quickly becoming the hidden jewel of Eastern Europe.

Looking back at the photos of my first visit I remember our tour guide taking us through the story of Vlad Tepes the man who most believe that the Dracula story is based on. Vlad Tepes was known as Vlad the impaler who obviously used that method to dispatch his enemies. Vlad was never a resident of Bran castle, He was no vampire either and the true vampire legend is still shrouded in mystery.

Romania has long suffered at the hands of the worst dictator in Europe but now emerges as a refreshing place to visit Bucharest has many tree lined boulevards and is considered as the Paris of the East. The palace in the centre of Bucharest is a vast building I was looking at it thinking about how I would be hate to be the window cleaner for that lot. It was built by the dictator but now used as a government building.

I found that I liked being in the mountains the best of my times I have spent there the Carpathian Mountains are a wonder and the clear air and stunning views make it the most memorable part of my time there. Romania has now become one of my most favoured places to travel to mainly because it has no tourist traps just good people, good food and spectacular scenery.
